Multi-purpose training and community empowerment programme - MTCEA, an organization based at Iganga, east of Jinja in eastern Uganda. This is tackling two very important issues facing Uganda: low literacy rate in farming and the understanding and utilisation of sustainable agriculture.
Namalu agricultural extention project -Teaching the once-nomadic people of the Karamoja how to farm, now they can no longer follow their nomadic traditions.
Namalu food security silo scheme - Helping farmers create a winter store for their grain so they can be more self sufficent. Click here for more.
Teso Oxen re-stocking project - To improve the agricultural production of the area by the re-introduction of oxen for draught ploughing and cultivations.
St Francis Rehabilitation Centre - This centre finds children with various physical disabilities, in need of corrective surgery. It arranges for their operations at local hospitals, mainly Kumi, and continues their education, including vocational training to enable them to be confident, useful members of their communities.

Mengo and Guluddene units for children with learning difficulties - The hospital helps children in both the school and clinic to develop physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually.
Kumi Hospital, Eastern Uganda - Kumi Hospital is a private, not-for-profit, 350 bed hospital providing medical and surgical treatment for children and adults. FOAG provides financial support to supplement staff salaries, fund fuel for the generator and purchase vital medical equipment.
Dr Ambrosoli Memorial Health Centre - Although predominantly providing maternity care, the centre is also treats anyone with malaria, HIV, Thphoid and other illnesses.
Kiwoko Hospital - Kiwoko has been training nurses for five years.
Butiru Cheshire Home, Tororo - This is a non-governmental organsation, run by the Sisters of Mary. It rehabilitates 40-60 disabled children at a time. Many of these are in need of operations and teh project funds short-term rehabilitation. It provides orthopaedic appliances and runs vocational courses to develop their skills and learning at the same time.
Masindi Centre for the Handicapped - This is a school of 117 pupils with a variety of handicaps. The emphasis is on education and vocational training so that re-integration into family and village life is a real possibility.
Budaka Cheshire Home and Rehabilitation Centre- This improves the quality of life for disabled children in one of the poorest agricultural regions in Eastern Uganda.
Kamurasi Primary School - Offers specialist education such a brail and sign language. Its vocational training provides life-enhancing skills as well as a standard curriculum based education. Kamurasi integrates disabled children with able-bodied children. You wouldn't believe how important this is to re-educate children and correct the outrageous and unfounded stigmas there are associated with disabilities; children are abandoned, beaten or hidden because of the ridiculous notion that they are related to the devil or bring bad fortune.
